New sash widows
If restoration or repair of your original timber windows is not an option, we can craft new box sash windows for your property. We’ll use your original windows to inspire our design, so you can rest assured that your home will retain its period architectural integrity. And thanks to our innovative methods, it’ll feel wonderfully warm too.
New timber sash windows
We use a combination of the latest techniques and traditional joinery skills to produce period windows, tailored to suite your home. Crafted in our East Sussex workshop, we use a mixture of quality sustainably sourced hardwood and a special engineered softwood wood called Accoya. This ensures your new sash windows are incredibly stable, resist rot and warping. Your new windows will look exactly like the originals, while benefiting from draught-elimination, fewer rattles and improved energy efficiency. We can match any moulding or profile to produce exact replicas of the original windows of any building. We have worked extensively with local authorities and have specific expertise in listed buildings and conservation areas.
If required, your new windows can also be double glazed with low emission glass, so they comply with the thermal requirements of current building regulations. However, your local planning authority might insist that your windows are single glazed to maintain the authenticity of a listed building – in which case, we can provide this too.
Each of our new, timber box sash windows can be:
• Fitted with our unique draught proofing system.
• Fully factory-finished with a microporous paint system.
• Supplied with all necessary window furniture.
Your new sash windows will either by supplied sprayed or hand painted with a high build base coat and an anti-stain primer, ready for a final finishing coat by your decorator.
We had Top Notch install new sash windows into our property which we were developing, to add value for selling. They matched all of the widow detail and horns to some old photographs we found in the property and the end result looked really fantastic”Hannah – BN3 – Hove
